HID Shipyard's 12-inch dredger was successfully delivered to an African customer, contributing to the local river dredging project.
A 12-inch dredger independently developed and manufactured by HID Shipyard has been successfully installed and debugged in a coastal country in West Africa and has been officially put into use in the local key river dredging project. This is the fifth dredger installation project completed by HID Shipyard in the African market this year, marking a further deepening of the company's layout of small and medium-sized engineering vessels in the markets along the "Belt and Road".
This 12-inch dredger is designed with hydraulic cutter suction, capable of digging up to 8 meters in depth, with a discharge distance exceeding 1,500 meters, and can handle approximately 300 cubic meters of slurry mixture per hour. The equipment adopts a modular assembly structure, which is convenient for separate transportation and on-site rapid assembly in ports with relatively weak infrastructure in Africa. From the core pump set to the wear-resistant pipes and then to the automatic control system, all are assembled and integrated by HID Shipyard.
This installation site is located on a river flowing into the sea that frequently silts up during the rainy season. In the past two years, the passage has been blocked many times, affecting the entry and exit of small cargo ships and fishing boats along the coast. The local project leader said, "The dry season window is very short. We need a reliable and easy-to-maintain device to quickly form operational capacity." The HID team not only completed the installation within the promised construction period but also trained six local operators for us. Currently, the equipment has been running continuously for over 200 hours, and the dredging effect has exceeded expectations."
The head of HID Shipyard's overseas business division emphasized: "The demand for small and medium-sized dredgers of 12-inch and 14-inch types in the African market is continuously increasing. Many inland lake ports and irrigation canals urgently need cost-effective dredging solutions."
HID Shipyard currently offers a one-stop service including custom design, production, sea transportation, installation and operation training for the full range of dredgers from 10 inches to 30 inches.
