Recently, the large cutter suction dredger independently developed and built by SCO HID Shipyard was installed and debugged at the Port of Karachi, Pakistan, and officially put into port dredging work. This is another milestone for China's high-end dredging equipment to enter the global market and will also inject new impetus into the infrastructure construction of the countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.

The dredger is equipped with flexible steel piles and a high-power cutter excavation system, demonstrating outstanding rock excavation and long-distance transportation capabilities. Its core technical indicators have reached the international leading level, with a dredging capacity of approximately 5,000 cubic meters of rock and soil per hour, comparable to or even surpassing similar vessels currently in service in Asia.

After the vessel is put into operation, it will mainly be responsible for the dredging of the port channel and the reclamation of artificial islands, creating conditions for the subsequent construction of port facilities. This cooperation project demonstrates the depth and breadth of cooperation between the two countries under the framework of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and is another testament to the friendship between China and Pakistan.
