However, traditional mining methods have faced challenges in accessing deep-sea tin deposits efficiently. HID recognized the need for an innovative solution that could revolutionize tin ore mining in Indonesia's waters and embarked on the development of a large-scale mining dredger specifically designed for this purpose.
On July 14, 2022, a newly built named“Lucky Star 168” was handed over to our Indonesia client. The dredger sets a new standard for the dredging industry and solidifies our position as the market leader in the field of dredgers. Not only because 95 meters long It is by far the largest tin ore mining dredger in China, and powerful with a total installed power of 2,800 kW guarantees a rated handling capacity of 700 tonnes per hour and the ability to dredge at depths of up to 50 meters, but also because of the many innovations on board.

The dredger will be used primarily for tin ore extraction in the open sea and also features equipment for tin ore selection. The introduction of the large tin ore mining dredger has significantly increased productivity and cost-efficiency in the Indonesian sea tin ore mining sector. Its high-capacity pumping and processing systems enable the extraction of larger quantities of tin ore in shorter time frames.
